Final Score: Charlie 5, Potty 0
Well, Charlie has showed some interest in the potty, and so I thought I might try a little potty training, just to see. I didn’t have much of a plan, beyond taking off the diaper and putting him on a little potty every 30 minutes or so, watching for clues to see when he needed to go, etc. Within the first hour and a half, Charlie wet 5 times. We missed the potty every time. After cleaning up all those messes, I put the diaper back on. I think I’ll do a little more research, and maybe wait a few months before trying again.
So funny! And so fun, right?????
August 23rd, 2007 at 11:33 amWhen my middle boy was 2, and we tried this, we looked at me solemnly with his big brown eyes and said, “I will use the potty when I am 4″. He is a very literal child, and we could not convince him to change his mind. So, on his 4th birthday, we said, “Happy birthday! You are now 4. Here is your new underwear. Enjoy it!”
I don’t potty train my boys til 3. I have many friends who do the same :O) Girls, well…that’s a different story!
